Sydney's natural counterpoint
The Blue Mountains sit about 90 minutes west of Sydney — a UNESCO World Heritage area of sandstone cliffs, eucalyptus valleys, and the famous Three Sisters rock formation. From any Sydney CBD hotel you can leave at 9 am, stand at Echo Point by 11, and be back for dinner.
Lux Move runs the trip as a private chauffeured day — door to door in a Lexus RX350 SUV. Your chauffeur knows the lookouts that stay quiet when the bus tours arrive (Govett's Leap, Lincoln's Rock, Hanging Rock), the lunch spots in Leura village, and the timing that puts you at Echo Point in the late-afternoon light when the photographs turn out best.
A typical 6-hour day
Your chauffeur texts 15 minutes ahead, meets you at the front desk. Bottled water in the car. 90 minutes west via the M4.
Wentworth Falls or Sublime Point — quieter than Echo Point, dramatic cliff-edge views. 30 minutes of walking on graded paths.
Heritage shopping street, garden cafes. A coffee or chocolate stop before lunch.
Lily's of Leura, Solitary at Sublime Point, Café Bon Ton — booked ahead, table waiting. Lunch at your cost.
Katoomba's main lookout — the Three Sisters straight across Jamison Valley. Optional: Scenic World cable car (90 minutes, A$59pp adult).
Govett's Leap (waterfall lookout), Lincoln's Rock or the heritage Carrington Hotel in Katoomba for afternoon tea.
90 minutes back to Sydney CBD. You arrive in time for dinner.

6-hour tour (most popular): A$600 (Lexus RX350). Two or three lookouts, lunch in Leura, plenty of unhurried time.
8-hour tour: A$760 (Lexus RX350). Adds Scenic World, Govett's Leap, or a deeper exploration with multiple stops.
Larger groups (5–7 passengers): upgrade to a 7-seater Lexus RX450h or Kia Carnival for approximately 15–20% more.
Why private over a bus tour
Pickup and drop-off at your Sydney hotel — not a 7 am meeting point in front of QVB.
Your chauffeur knows when bus tours arrive at Echo Point (mid-morning) and times your visit before or after. Govett's Leap and Lincoln's Rock are quieter all day.
You eat where Sydneysiders eat — Lily's, Solitary, Carrington — instead of a coach-tour buffet.
Late-afternoon light at Echo Point is when the sandstone glows. Bus tours have left. We time the tour for the photograph you actually want.
Primary Vehicle
Our primary fleet vehicle for day tours — quiet on the M4 highway both ways, leather and climate inside, panoramic for the descent through Lapstone. Up to 4 passengers. Groups of 5–7 upgrade to a 7-seater.
Comfortable for the 90-minute drive west and back. Climate, water, optional WiFi.
FAQ
We offer 4, 6 and 8-hour options. The 6-hour tour is the most popular — your chauffeur picks up at your hotel around 9 am, you reach Three Sisters lookout by 11 am, see two or three viewpoints with lunch in Leura, and return to your hotel by 5 pm. The 4-hour version is condensed (Echo Point + one lookout, no Scenic World). The 8-hour adds Scenic World, Govett's Leap and Wentworth Falls.
Fixed fare from A$450 for 4 hours in a Lexus RX350 SUV (up to 4 passengers), A$600 for 6 hours, A$760 for 8 hours. Larger groups (5–7) upgrade to a 7-seater for approximately 15–20% more. Scenic World entry, lunch and other ticketed stops are paid directly at the venues.
Echo Point in Katoomba is the standard viewing platform — looks straight at the Three Sisters rock formation across Jamison Valley. World Heritage area. Best in late afternoon when light catches the sandstone. Your chauffeur drives you to the lookout; the walk from the carpark is 2 minutes.
Scenic World is the cable car / funicular railway / glass walkway combo at Katoomba. It's a 90-minute stop and adds A$59 per adult / A$33 per child to the day. Best added to the 6 or 8-hour tour. Stunning if you haven't done it; skippable if you prefer the free lookouts (Echo Point, Govett's Leap, Wentworth Falls).
Leura village is the standard stop — Lily's of Leura, Solitary at Sublime Point, Café Bon Ton, or the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba. Lunch at your cost (A$40–80 per person). Booked ahead by us with your dietary preferences.
Year-round. Autumn (April–May) shows the European-style colour in Leura's gardens. Spring (Sept–Oct) brings rhododendrons. Summer is cooler than Sydney (a relief on hot days). Winter (June–August) can have snow at Katoomba — beautiful and quiet, the views above the cloud line are spectacular.
Tell us your hotel name when booking. Your chauffeur arrives at your hotel lobby at the agreed time. We text 15 minutes before pickup. No need to come outside until you see the message.
