Plan your tour
Tell us your hotel and the date — we'll come back within 15 minutes with cellar-door suggestions, lunch options and a fixed all-day fare.
A day in Australia's oldest wine region
The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest commercial wine region — Semillon, Shiraz and Chardonnay grown two hours north of Sydney since the 1820s. It's the most accessible wine country day trip from any Sydney hotel: leave your hotel lobby at 8 am, you're at the first cellar door by 10:30, and home by dinner.
Lux Move runs the trip as a private chauffeured day — door to door in a Lexus RX350 SUV, no tour bus, no group of strangers, no rushed pour. Your chauffeur knows the cellar doors that don't appear in the guidebooks, books ahead so you skip the queue at the popular ones, and gets you to a winery restaurant for lunch with a table waiting.
A typical 8-hour day
Your chauffeur texts 15 minutes ahead, meets you at the front desk. Bottled water in the car. Two hours north via the M1.
A landmark winery — Tyrrell's, Audrey Wilkinson or Lake's Folly. Tastings booked ahead so you walk straight to the bar.
Margan at Broke, Muse at Hungerford Hill, or Bistro Molines. Booked ahead, dietary requirements pre-noted. Lunch at your cost.
One boutique family-run, one with a museum cellar or vista. Pace suits you — your chauffeur drives, you taste.
Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop, Hunter Valley Chocolate Company, or Hunter Valley Gardens on the 10-hour version.
Two hours back to Sydney CBD. You arrive at your hotel lobby in time for dinner.

Why private over a bus tour
Pickup and drop-off at your Sydney hotel. No 6 am meeting point, no last passenger holding everyone up.
Choose your wineries, your pace, your lunch venue. Want a 90-minute stop at one cellar door instead of three? Done.
Your chauffeur drives — your cellar door staff tell the story. Less polished than a bus-tour guide, more accurate.
Just your party in a Lexus RX350. Conversations are private. The car holds your wine purchases on the way home.

FAQ
We offer 6, 8 and 10-hour options. The 8-hour tour is the most popular — your chauffeur picks up at your hotel around 8 am, you reach the first cellar door by 10:30 am, do 3–4 wineries with lunch in between, and return to your hotel by 5–6 pm. The 6-hour version is condensed; the 10-hour adds Hunter Valley Gardens or a second lunch stop.
Fixed fare from A$650 for 6 hours in a Lexus RX350 SUV (up to 4 passengers), A$820 for 8 hours, A$980 for 10 hours. Larger groups (5–7) upgrade to a 7-seater for around 15–20% more. Cellar door tasting fees and lunch are paid directly at the venues — typically A$15–35 per person per cellar door, lunch A$60–120 per person.
Your chauffeur tailors the itinerary to your preferences — Shiraz / Semillon / Chardonnay focus, family-run boutique vs landmark estate, museum cellars vs new producers. Common stops include Tyrrell's, Audrey Wilkinson, McGuigan, Bimbadgen, Lake's Folly, Brokenwood and Tower Estate. We book ahead so you skip the queue at popular ones.
Lunch is at your cost (typically A$60–120 per person), booked by us at one of the winery restaurants — Margan at Broke, Muse at Hungerford Hill, Bistro Molines, or Hunter Valley Resort's restaurant. Tell us your dietary preferences when booking and we'll arrange.
Yes. The Gardens are a 90-minute stop, best added to a 10-hour itinerary. Beautiful in spring and Christmas (light show). Entry fee paid at the gate. Tell us when you book.
Wine country runs rain or shine. Cellar doors are indoor experiences. If forecast looks heavy we'll pre-book restaurants instead of garden tables. Tour proceeds — your chauffeur drives you door-to-door.
Tell us your hotel name when booking. Your chauffeur arrives at your hotel lobby at the agreed time. We text 15 minutes before pickup. No need to come outside until you see the message.
